Trump Tower Manila, also known as Trump Tower at Century City, is a residential building located in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines. The tower’s concept of the ‘peeled’ façade is articulated with internal balconies. The top and bottom corners peel away which accentuates the dynamic form of the tower. Its curtain wall facade maximizes spectacular panoramic views of the city. The facade’s function is environmentally responsive where light shelves and shading systems are designed to react to the building’s orientation in relation to sun’s path.
Scope
The building is 305m high. The roof deck has a parapet of almost 7 meters which must be surpassed by the jib. An auxiliar hoist is needed for the replacing of the glass windows.
Strategy
With a big distance between the edge of the roof level and some of the facades, a fixed – no rail track – FBA S machine has been designed with a long reach of 20,5 meters, capable of reaching all areas of the façade. It incorporates an auxiliar hoist with a capacity of 400 kg. The BMU is fully PLC controlled. The machine stays hidden when not in use, behind the high parapet.
